March 13, 2008 Soccer Booster Club Meeting Minutes
Board Attendance: John Murnan Al Evans Rosie Ranstadler Maureen Torkos Iris Koplen Chris Stahler Judy Walker Allan Grant Pamela Meyers Steve Lameier
Unfinished Business: 1. Fundraising a. Board still planning on trying 2 way letter for additional fundraising b. Board members will pass out a minimum of 5 letters to parents at this weeks games. c. Discussed options for next year. A good idea may be a “closest to the pin” contest. Will discuss further at another time. d. Summer Camp i. Week of June 16th-20th ii. 2 sessions of 9:00-12:00 and 5:00-8:00 iii. will be for academy aged children iv. school board approval pending
2. Yearly payments of $5,000 from each account for the booster club pledge to support jumbotron/turf field have been made. Board needs to establish budget for next year.
New Business:
1. End of Season Banquet a. Still need to establish dates for banquets. b. Rosie will follow up with banquet committee to nail down dates. c. Will be catered by JD’s. d. Senior Gifts ($35-$50 per gift) i. Girls are currently working on scrapbooks ii. Will advise committee to contact Creative Awards about trophies iii. Will contact Mary Miller about price of gift bags last year.
2. Booster club merger a. Board discussed pros and cons of keeping boys and girls sides of the booster club together next year. b. Board has asked Dean Oswalt to speak to basketball boosters about the success of their combined booster club. Will further discuss after Dean reports with suggestions.
3. Officer nominations for next year a. Pam Meyers will send an email to all booster members to attend next meeting April 17th with any suggestions for nominations. b. Board members agree that the position of secretary needs to be represented by both the girls and boys side. c. Board plans on getting parent commitments for committees this year to get more involvement.
4. Senior Night will be 3/19 for girls and 3/26 for boys. Invites will be sent via email.
5. Lighting problem with fields. County will be contacted to correct.
